    June 1st Swim Meet

Happy Last Day of School CHAT Families!!!

Before we dive into Summer and get busy with Memorial Day plans--RSVP for the June 1st meet if you want your swimmer in the lineup!  If you are out of town--RSVP NO!  Coach Kevin works very hard the days leading up to a meet getting the line up just right- his job is easier when everyone has RSVP'd.

We need a few more volunteers for this meet as well.  Click on the V button on the calendar to volunteer.

    We need:

Master Recorder: Each team will provide a Master Recorder. The master recorder collects the Judges Placing Form from the Judge's Recorder when the event is complete and enters all the swimmers' times in the Time column of the Judges Placing Forms noted by the  timer. With all places and times recorded, the master recorder will deliver the completed Judges Placing Form to the scoring table directly or via the runner.

PLACE JUDGES: Each team provides a place judge and these individuals stand at the finishing end of the pool and observe the race finish and agree on the order of finishing.

RIBBONS:  Places labels on ribbons; sorts and files ribbons into swimmer file folder. Assigned to work for one half of the meet. This job keeps you sitting down and out of the sun but may require you to keep working for a short while after the meet is over.

BULLPEN: Working the bull pen is key to getting our swimmers ready on time and not miss any events. (Make sure all swimmers stay in the bull pen area. Let the swimmers know who you are and why you are there - especially for the younger age groups.) The parent volunteers are required to follow the heat sheet and keep track of the swimmers and their events. You should write the events on the swimmers arm to help them remember what events they are swimming if it hasn't been done already. Familiarize yourself with the arm writing procedure so you know the correct order of strokes and swimmers in a relay and how to line the kids up including which end of the pool they should line up at. Swimmers are to ask permission before leaving the are for restroom breaks, concessions, etc. It is very important that they remain in the swimmer's area during the meet so that they do not miss their events. We don't want the bullpen coordinators to have to search for swimmers. Bull pen coordinators will bring the swimmers to the starting area when it is their turn to swim and make sure they know they are to return to the bullpen after they have finished swimming their event. Make sure the bullpen is left clean when the meet is complete.

Please sign up to volunteer so you get the volunteer spot of your choice!

HAVE A GREAT LAST DAY OF SCHOOL!!  See you at practice this afternoon!
